Who we are

TheBonk.cc is an independent Canyon stock tracker. For anything privacy-related, email support@thebonk.cc.

What we collect

  • Account data — your email address and a hashed password, or your Google account email if you sign in with Google. We never see your Google password.
  • Notification settings — an optional notification email address and/or phone number, only if you enter them.
  • Monitors — which bikes, colors, and sizes you're watching.
  • Purchase records — payments are processed by Stripe; we store only purchase metadata (date, amount, an anonymous Stripe reference). Your card details never touch our servers.

What we use it for

Sending you the stock alerts you asked for, keeping you logged in, and keeping a record of your purchases. That's it — we don't sell or rent your data to anyone.

Cookies & local storage

  • A session cookie plus a long-lived "remember me" cookie so you stay logged in until you log out.
  • A theme preference in your browser's local storage (dark/light).
  • Cookieless, privacy-friendly page-view counting (Simple Analytics plus our own lightweight counter) — no cookies, no cross-site tracking.
  • Public pages show ads via Google AdSense, which may set its own cookies — see Google's ad policies. Users with active monitoring access browse ad-free.

Like practically every website, our servers also keep standard access logs (IP address, requested page, browser identifier) for security and debugging; they rotate out automatically.

Third parties we rely on

Stripe (payments, as merchant of record), Twilio (text-message delivery), Amazon SES (email delivery), Simple Analytics (cookieless page-view stats), and Google (optional sign-in, and ads as described above). Each receives only what it needs to do its job.

Retention & your rights

We keep your data while your account exists. You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and everything attached to it — email support@thebonk.cc and we'll sort it out.
